Reflecting on a Meaningful Journey: Life is Good

Life Is Good

Today is the last day of our trip to New York, and it has gone surprisingly well.

Yesterday I gave my motivational talk at the camp. This year I only had 20 minutes because there were more speakers, and that was perfectly fine with me. I told the director I could work with whatever time I was given. My talk ended up being 21 minutes, and it went really well. One thing I love is being able to tailor my message to fit any situation.

It reminded me of the time I spoke at the Newsboys concert. I only had one minute to share my story, and when I finished, I received a standing ovation. I'm not saying that to brag—it was simply a reminder of how much confidence God has given me since the accident. I never imagined I'd be comfortable speaking in front of crowds, but now it's one of the greatest joys in my life.

The drive was over two hours each way, so by the time I got back I was exhausted. Thankfully, I was able to stop for Mass on the way home. That was the perfect way to end the day.

Because I went to Mass last night, I get to stay home this morning with my two youngest children, which gives me some quiet time to write.

I've also made a new commitment. I'm going to do my best to pray four Rosaries every day. If you're Catholic, you probably understand why that means so much to me. If you're not, I simply ask that you understand how important prayer has become in my life.

God is real. He saved my life, and everything I have is because of Him. I owe Him everything.

The key to heaven is love. I've learned that love isn't just for our families or our closest friends—it's for everyone we meet. In a way, that includes all of you who take the time to read these posts.

Life isn't perfect, but today I can honestly say this:

Life is good.

God bless.
